After years of searching, we finally found the right adapter for our iPhone and it works great. Although the adapter is a bit expensive and is designed for Apple devices, we would still recommend it if you are looking for a versatile solution.
It’s worth noting, though, that the adapter is not completely waterproof and will not fit all car models. Also, if you want to use an adapter with an active GPS, you’ll need to remove the GPS module (which is why we recommend the adapter above if you’re planning to use it in your car).
It’s not a great adapter because it can’t be used with an iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, or iPod touch. Still, if you can’t find one at a lower price, we recommend it since it has a fairly good range of connection options and should work with most mobile devices.
While this adapter is a little pricey (about $40), we think it is worth it. It has the exact same range of connection options as the regular iPhone adapter, and is compatible with the iPhone 4, 4S, iPod touch, and iPod nano. There are some downsides though, like the fact that it does not work with the iPhone 4S or iPod touch, iPhone 5, or any of the iPhone 5 or iPhone 6 models.
Although it is not fully compatible with the iPhone 4, 4S, and iPod touch, iPod nano, and iPhone 5, iPod classic/iPod touch, it is compatible with the iPhone 4, 4S, iPod touch, and iPod nano.
The aux adapter for iPhone also works with the iPod classic.

The original iPhone came pre-loaded with a companion aux port. If you have an iPod touch, the new iPhone is incompatible with it. This isn’t the end of the aux adapter for iPhone, however. The latest iPod touch, iPhone 5, iPhone 6, and iPhone 6s have an aux port compatible with the iPhone, but it is not compatible with the iPod classic.
